The Ambrona Valley Integral Actuation Plan
The main goal of our Research Project is the analysis and study of the introduction of the production economy (agriculture and livestock raising) into the interior of Iberia. The enormous archaeological richness of the Valley, with more than one hundred prehistoric sites and a huge ethnographic legacy, compel us to extend our activities considering our research project as an integral plan of actuation in the Valley in which the research must progress, but also that must create “cultural infrastructures” to be exploited on short, medium and long term, and economically reactivating this area.
The multidisciplinary research team would provide a complete and intense study of the occupation and development of the Neolithic populations in the Valley, with the aim of increasing the knowledge in the interior Iberia to the level of other peninsular regions such as Cataluña, Valencia or Andalucía.

Our goal is that the fieldwork, which is essential for the archaeological research, could finally become a permanent cultural advertising to attract visitants.
Only with this aim in mind we could perhaps minimize the problem of marginality that this area has, as the rest of the Jalón Basin in Soria, one of the most unknown regions in the province with serious depopulation problems that could be solved with the adequate cultural tourism development, given its great patrimonial possibilities and its exotic landscape that we pretend to show.
